Abstract
This qualitative study analyzes the impact of standardization from a teacher’s perspective. Interviews were conducted with a variety of kindergarten to fourth grade public school teachers from Pennsylvania schools with varying years of service, teaching philosophies, and school locations. These interviews focused on how standardization, such as standardized testing, standardized curriculum, and standards-based instruction impacts the educational system, specifically the learning and teaching experience of special education, gifted, and general school populations.
