Abstract

To study the radar characteristics of confirmed Pennsylvania tornadoes that occurred within optimal radar-surveilling range during the dual-polarization era; compare the results of that study to the radar characteristics of Pennsylvania storms that were tornado-warned, yet not confirmed to have produced a tornado, which occurred within optimal radar-surveilling range during the dual-polarization era; o provide suggestions for how National Weather Service tornado warning guidance could be specialized for Pennsylvania.
